These wheels are engineered to grip the corrugated board firmly without damaging the flutes.

  • Material: Usually made of high-friction polyurethane or rubber. Polyurethane is preferred for its longevity and resistance to abrasion.

  • Durometer (Hardness): Typically ranges from 35 to 60 Shore A. Softer wheels provide better grip but wear faster; harder wheels last longer but may slip on recycled or "slippery" liners.

  • Surface Texture: * Smooth: General purpose.

    • Crush-less/Grated: Designed with internal air pockets or "ribs" to compress slightly, ensuring the board isn't flattened during high-speed feeding.

In a Flexo Printer Slotter (FPS) machine used in corrugated box manufacturing, the slotting blade is one of the most important cutting tools. It is used in the slotting unit to cut slots in the corrugated board so that the carton can be folded into a box shape (RSC, half-slotted carton, etc.).
The slotting blade is a hardened circular cutting knife mounted on the slotting shaft of a flexo printer slotter machine. It cuts vertical slots on corrugated sheets to form the flaps of corrugated cartons. The blade works together with creasing wheels and slotting knife holders to produce accurate box dimensions

Typical construction of a flexo slotting blade:

  • Material: Alloy tool steel / SKD-11 steel

  • Heat treatment: Hardened and ground for long life

  • Surface hardness: about HRC 58–62

  • Edge type: Crescent or tooth-shaped cutting edge
